Above- Nightgown sample with my cute teddy bear. Isn't he darling? I saw him at a craft store and just had to buy him. I want to make him into a bracelet.
I've been wanting to try Nightgown for such a long time, so I finally chose it for my sample with Smoky Mountain Mallow. I know a lot of you like Nightgown, and for good reasons! Let's check out the scent description:
NIGHTGOWN
Vanilla, White Chocolate, Tuberose & Tiare Flowers
Shake this perfume gently before use. A sensual and very creamy floral fragrance, Nightgown evokes the image of a gorgeous satin nightie with lace trim. It fits like a second skin and is the perfect attire for lounging and snuggling. This perfume is the representation of the fabric itself: beautiful, plush, sweet and delicate with white velvety petals from exotic flowers that entrance you with aphrodisiac qualities. The floral notes are very creamy, well rounded and tame while still being detectable and not too heady, sharp or perfumey. The dominant notes are a vanilla accord blended with a touch of divine white chocolate. The floral notes are present on initial application and for some time on the skin though on the long term dry down they will recede and the vanillas and white chocolate will be predominant. If you like the vanilla accord in Manor and Snowshoe Pass, it makes a striking appearance in this blend! Nightgown is wispy, innocent and mysterious at once - like feathers and a gently strummed harp.
This perfume is absolutely lovely! I love Solstice Scents' descriptions, because Angela lets you know exactly what to expect from initial application to dry down. It is a very floral fragrance when first applied, but a very beautiful one at that. I get hints of tuberose and another floral note- probably the tiare flowers. Almost immediately, the perfume tames down and turns into that "second skin" that was described in the scent description. It is very soft and suttle, yet overwhelmingly beautiful. It really is perfect for snuggling in bed with your loved one or your kitty cat! I do get the vanilla from Snowshoe Pass in this blend, which is great because I love that perfume too. I think this would be a perfect perfume for any day you don't want to smell too much like perfume and want something more delicate. I sometimes worry that people will get mad at me at work for always smelling like graveyards, ancient libraries, or haunted houses (which my favorite perfumes smell like); so Nightgown would probably be more of a crowd pleaser. I really feel like an outcast at both my jobs. No one else really wears makeup, nail polish, or even perfume.
Speaking of work, I must go get ready for it! Let me know what kind of Valentine edition perfumes you guys love!

DISCLAIMER- Nightgown was a free sample with my purchase of a full size perfume. I am not affiliated or compensated by any of the companies mentioned. All opinions are always my own and always honest!
Gosh, between yours and Dee's reviews I want to get this in full size, right now! This is going in my next order.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth it, Su! Nightgown is a very beautiful scent. I wore it to work today :) Or you could choose it as your sample if you were wanting to purchase something else :) I love how the owner lets you choose what sample you want in the order. I know other companies do the same, but it's still nice!
DeleteSu, Jade bought it in the Burnishing Glace and she loves it too! (Also, you really need to get back on Twitter!)
DeleteSorry for butting in... You guys should tell me your Twitter usernames so I can follow you! <3
DeleteMy Twitter is @yota2012, but be warned - I get a bit ranty on there sometimes. ;-)
DeleteOh gosh, I do too!!! Mines @BlurringOfBlue
DeleteHaha Dee, I was just telling Rachel how Twitter steals my thoughts! I will be back after a month or so :)
DeleteI can't wait to put in my first SS order!
I hope you review your SS order when you try it. I'd love to hear what you think! :D
DeleteI love the pic with the teddy bear! So cute! I love this and I love Snowshow pass too! In fact, I love what Angela does with vanilla. You described it perfectly: overwhelmingly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI really like marshmallow scents for Valentines! Tomorrow, is the Valentine update from Solstice Scents and I would love to try their new scents. I have to wait for a couple of weeks thought.
Thank you so much, Amanda! I love miniatures, they are just so cute and fun! You're right, Angela does have beautiful vanilla accords! Do you have Manor? It's one of my favorites!
DeleteI'll have to check out the SS update. I haven't been on Facebook, so I wasn't aware of the update! Thanks for letting me know :) And marshmallow in scents (Valentine or otherwise) is so pretty!
I think I´d love this, even if it is a floral gourmand!
ReplyDeleteYou should try a sample, Nadja! It is seriously very pretty! c:
DeleteThe Valentine scents are usually my favourite collections all year, because they're so often gourmand and there's lots of chocolate involved. I bought all 5 of Twyla's (can't wait to get them!), but I'm actually sort of glad that I wasn't really drawn to any of the BPALs this year - at least I can save a bit of money on that. And there was only one in the Possets that really interested me (JFK and Jackie), so I'm not sure whether I'll bother doing an order just to get that one.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, as you know - I do love Nightgown!
I think I do remember you mentioning your love for Valentine scents! That's awesome! I checked out the Twyla website, and I'm glad you ordered their Valentine scents: they're right up your ally, as you know. I also checked out the Possets site after you posted that review today. Both companies are definitely on my eventual "try" list! <3
DeleteI loved your Nightgown review- it's actually what inspired me to get this sample! :D
