Hello there! Recently, Black Rose Minerals (
http://blackroseminerals.com/) released two new collections for Fall 2012. A Collection of the Perverse is based on Edgar Allan Poe's amazing, yet haunting, poems and stories. I've always been an avid Poe fan, so this was so exciting for me! I even got to visit Annabelle Lee's final resting place in Charleston, SC with my aunt. The graveyard Annabelle is buried in is really overgrown because that particular church believes we are reincarnated as the elements around us (such as the grass, weeds, trees, etc). Anyway, I'm going off topic, so let's move on! The next collection BRM released is the Not Another Zombie Collection, which is based on the one and only Rob Zombie! A lot of the shadows are derived from the array of colors on Mr. Zombie's albums. So let's get right into the pictures and swatches, shall we?
Above: My eyeshadows were housed in this riddiculously cute mummy bag adorned with black and orange Halloween ribbon. Rosa also inculded candy, Halloween erasers, a very sweet thank you letter, and a stamped mini envelope full of Halloween stickers, confetti, and eyeshadow samples. Indie companies FTW!

Red Death: Ever fancy a masquerade? Be sure to pick the right one, you may end up at one
where death is inevitable. But perhaps it does not matter as one cannot escape
death. It does not matter how much or how little money one has as death does not
discriminate. This scarlet is loaded with red sparkles, the oozing blood that
the red death brings. And gold sparkles for the fanciness that one must dress to
impress at a masquerade. Good color coverage both wet and dry, though wet brings
out a slight metallic sheen, A sticky base will help keep those sparkles in
place.
Haunted Palace: Imagine that an inanimate object can instill such an iciness, such dread that
you become lost in it.....
You are walking down the street minding your
own business with music blasting through your headphones. You just happen to
glance up and are hit with a sudden pang of gloom. This house sits there
exhuming its air of melancholy that just enraptures you in dread.
This
blue grey captures that dreariness, but we hope that anyone getting lost in your
eyes is driven mad in a good way. With just a touch of pink sparkles. Sheer when
dry, wearing wet or over a sticky base will deepen the blue grey just a tad and
make those pink sparkles pop.
Premature Burial:
Slowly your eyes are fluttering open after a deep sleep. You open your eyes to
complete darkness and a musty dirt smell. You cannot move very much. Your hands
go up feeling all around you. You are in a box! Your worst nightmare has come to
life. You start to breath in hard, panic sets in. You scratch up and splinters
get in your fingernails, blood trickles down. You flail in that confined space
screaming and breathing heavily. Why can't anyone hear you? You scream and
scream and before you know it you are in a deep sleep again.
Do you have
a fear of being buried alive? It is not an unlikely fear you know? Just in case
you are you can take precautions. This earthy brown glistens with pink and gold
sparkles. The pink for the blood under your fingernails. You will panic and end
up scratching your casket. The gold for the bell you may have installed just in
case such a thing came to pass. Can't you just smell the musty earth around you?
Good color coverage both wet or dry. A sticky base will hold those sparkles into
place.
Sinister Urge:
A light blue with a red sheen. Inspired by the album cover, which has different
shades of blue, green and red lettering. We're all sinners here! Good color
coverage wet or dry, but wet will bring out the red sheen.
Demonoid Phenomenon:
Imagine the soft glow of the setting sun behind the smoldering ruins of the
city. You watch as it all falls apart and can't help but think its such a
beautiful color...A deep rose bordering on soft red. Lavender and blue sparkles
give it a slight sheen in certain lights. Good color coverage wet or dry, though
we will bring out a slightly deeper color. A softer hell on earth.
Demonspeeding:
A light murky green with yellow highlights. Just a touch of green, lime and
orange glitter. Can be sheer dry, wet will bring out a bit of a metallic sheen.
A sticky base is best.
Holy shit, these colors are absolutely fucking breathtaking. They're pigmented as can be, complex, sparkly, and have awesome themes. This is my second order from BRM, and I couldn't be more satisfied. I love how Red Death has beautiful gold sparkles that actually show up when applied over a sticky base. And Sinister Urge is seriously to die for. I didn't capture its complexity in my swatches, but it is beautiful beyond words. In my opinion, Sinister Urge is comparable to the Arcane Magic line by Fyrinnae based on its beauty and complexity. I already wore it all over my lids, and the beauty translates onto the actual eyelid. I want to try Demonspeeding and Demonoid Phenomenon as a duo when I do my makeup tomorrow. :) I think they'd go perfect together.
