Possets description:
This is a dark sparkle like a true temptress. A pink musk provides the fizz and there is an overlay of sweet musk, a brush of lavender (Bulgarian), a bit of fern, and finally a slight bit of amber musk to keep it all going in the desired direction. Very tempting and ripe for falling. Like getting caught with someone you are slightly ashamed of...emboldening.

Cold sniff: I spent quite a bit of time deciphering what exactly I was smelling. At one point, I thought this was a musky, sweet smell from the imp. But my initial guess was a fruity smell, which makes no sense from the description. So I headed to the Possets forum and noticed that the ladies over there were smelling peaches! With another test whiff, I can absolutely verify that it smells like peaches. Sweetly musky, peachy, fizzy, and fun. (that's quite a mouthful!)
Initial Application/Wet on skin: I don't know where that peach note is coming from, but it's definitely still there. The cold sniff translates almost completely to the initial application. It's just more complex now because I can also detect the amber and lavender notes at this stage. It's very pretty and versatile.
Drydown: Oddly enough, I don't really smell much of a difference from initial application to drydown.
Final Thoughts: This is a really fun, lighthearted perfume that I could definitely could have seen myself wearing when I was in high school; but I don't think it's currently for me. It really saddens me to say that because I do like this perfume quite a lot. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the formula, silage, or longevity. It smells wonderful, and it's really cheeky! I honestly just can't justify buying a full size when I know I wouldn't wear it very often. I am going to let it age a bit and test it again, because I want it to work for me :)

Huh, that´s strange! Sometimes you get something very different from what you expected, for better or worse. Peach... I´m trying to imagine what exactly peach smells like, but I can´t quite remember... But generally I´m not very fond of fruity perfumes. There are exceptions though as I´m very fond of fig! Plum and some berries are nice too, and recently I have found myself liking a couple of scents with apricot in them.
ReplyDeleteI am usually not big on fruit notes in perfume either. One perfume I love has a fig note though- Down a Dark Path by OHWTO. I can still smell The Temptress on my wrist. I like it SO much, but it's not my thing. I hope I don't sound crazy for saying that, heh. I'm still trying to decide what to send you!
DeleteI`ll be sending you a sample of Les Mysteres by Alkemiathat I dont need any more as I have a full size of that one now. It has the most awesome fig ever, fruity but at the same time green and milky and soo unique!
DeleteI know what you mean, I feel that way with many gourmands!
Fruits are very hit or miss for me, and peach and grapefruit and extremely treacherous! Don't think this one would be for me, and the picture sort of creeps me out :O
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Then I don't know if this would be for you either <3 As a general rule, I'd rather have fruits in my tummy than in my perfume, heh! Yes, the picture is kind of weird. It's like a succubus, or that's what it reminds me of at least!
DeleteI knew it looked familiar, but I looked it up to make sure. It's from Hieronymus Bosch's The Garden of Earthly Delights. He was a painter who did all sorts of religiously influenced works, heaven and hell and such in a very creepy, surreal fashion. They're sort of Where's Waldo in nature, it took me a minute to find that particular scene. But that's what it is, FYI :)
DeleteThey're not bugging me at all! I've been reading them all with interest but I read blogs on my phone so it makes it hard to comment often. I am here though!
ReplyDeletePeachy scents are not my thing at all but Noodles loves them so whenever I get any that lean towards that I pass them on to her.
Oh Dee, you're so sweet to say that! I never thought I'd be updating my blog so much, so it feels foreign to me. I know what you mean about phone commenting, because I use my phone for the majority of online shenanigans, including this. But I'm commenting from my iPad right now, which makes my phone's fallbacks sound heavenly.
DeletePeachy scents don't seem to be very popular with a lot of us! Very interesting :)
I think peach is one of those very young scents - I always think of The Body Shop Fuzzy Peach, which my friends were all mad on when we were about 15 (I was more into Dewberry, myself).
DeleteI couldn't imagine for the notes given that this smells peachy! How strange!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it weird? And for me, the peach was the strongest note that lasted the longest!
