I admit it, I'm incredibly indecisive. In a way, it can be semi-good, in the sense that it forces me to really think things through. Alternately, it can be a major pain in the butt, as you can imagine!
I'm not ALWAYS stalling on decisions. I can make quick ones, especially when I know it's an important decision that needs to be made in a timely manner. I'm more indecisive when it comes to the smaller things, like what eyeshadow to wear, and what perfume to wear. I've been in a huge makeup rut lately, which is why I don't even post about makeup anymore. I feel so inadequate with my makeup skills, especially compared to all the talented people on makeup blogs and certain YouTube channels. Lately, I've just been wearing winged liner with mascara (or false lashes if I'm feelin' fancy)- if I wear it at all. So that completely solves the "what eyeshadow color should I wear?" question, haha! But when it comes to perfume, I can really have a hard time choosing a scent in the morning! I see my perfume display, and I silently scream for my brain to work- because I just can't even come close to deciding.
Some days are definitely better than others. I'm not trying to make this sound debilitating, because it's not. It just gets annoying when I choose a scent I am just not feeling for the day and end up scrubbing it off. Or worse, when I can't decide at all. Do you guys have a rhyme or rhythm to choosing a perfume to wear every day? Do you choose based on the weather, your mood, or does it even matter? I'm very curious, as I get very annoyed at myself for not being able to just decide and go!
I hope you're all enjoying the rest of your weekend!

I don´t really have a problem with choosing what operfume to wear... They days that going out I usually choose clothes first and then a perfume to match the mood those clothes have set. My clothes are usually chosen based on weather and overall mood though, so I guess those factors do influence my choice of perfume, indirectly. The days when I´m just hanging around at home I wear scents that I need to get to know better, samples that I haven´t made up my mind about... And sometimes I just get cravings for a certain perfume.
ReplyDeleteIt´s supposed to be "The days that I´m going out..." ;)
DeleteAh crap, there's a ghost in my blog! I just typed out a reply to you, and it disappeared! D: Anyway, I am not surprised that you sometimes base your perfume on your outfits! You have such a great sense of style, so I could see how wonderful that would work :) I have to dress professionally for work, so I don't have many options to be inspired from my perfumes :( Some girls I work with wear spandex and high heels (in the same outfit), but I personally don't think that's a good thing to wear since we work with kids >.< Hopefully I don't sound mean or judgemental by saying that, I just don't get it. As for the weather, I sometimes wear lighter or spring-inspired scents when it's nice outside, but that can be difficult because I own a lot of darker perfumes since that is generally what I like.
DeleteBy the way, I just finished the first Game of Thrones chapter. I was SO glad they got to keep the direwolf pups! <3
Thank you! I dread the time after my studies are over when I actually have to work and wear sometthing professional... That will be sooo boring! I mean, I can´t work in a library and wear what I normaly wear, can I? Some outfits just aren´t very suitable for work... Spandex!? I hate spandex, with or without heels, with or without kids... ;) And kids and heels just generally seem like they wouldn´t mix that well... Lol!
DeleteI´m not very fond of spring/summer scents, nah... they are very much not my thing, neither is spring/summer fashion... And I hate when hot weather makes it so that I can´t wear my favorite clothes!
Yeah, those direwolves will be very important to the story! And I do so love wolves!
Aww, hopefully the library you work for in the future will we liberal and flexible as far as clothing standards! I think it would be so awesome if they let you adhere to your daily sense of style! Wearing work clothes is so boring, I feel like I lose myself in the mundane professional standards. I try to spice it up with cute jewelry or certain hairstyles, but I still feel like a robot sometimes! And yeah, spandex needs to be outlawed, haha! I wouldn't wear heels around the kids, as it's not practical, and it's not like I'm on a hot date trying to impress anyone! Lol! I don't care that my workmates wear what they wear, I just wouldn't do it. ;)
DeleteSummer is just flat out annoying. The scents generally aren't as fun (in my opinion), and the heat is absolutely miserable! I love winter though :D
I can't wait to read more. I love wolves too, they're so majestic!
Hmmm... maybe I could wear a toned down version of my daily gear to work, the shirt and vest combo is rather proper and old fashioned and wouldn´t look too out of place on a librarian, I think. But the top hat might be a bit much. :P I do have an outfit that I have nicknamed the naughty librarian, but that one is definitely NOT professional... it might look proper from a distance but up close it really isn´t!
DeleteToo many choices can definitely be paralyzing. I know I've stood in the cereal aisle at the store for absurd amounts of time, trying to balance what I'd like to get with what G would like, with what's the cheapest, with what's the tastiest. I've read that extreme indecisiveness can be a sign of depression, that could also be an issue with me. As far as perfumes go, I prefer to not make a daily commitment. I carry quite a few oils in my purse at all times, and once one fades halfway into the day, I sometimes switch to something else depending on where my mood takes me. Especially when I'm sampling a bunch of new ones, I don't have the patience to just wear one each day!
ReplyDeleteThat seriously sounds like me! And when my boyfriend is also tagging along during grocery shopping, it's even worse because we weigh all of the options a million times! I've actually read the same thing about indecisiveness and depression, which I also have had issues with... So I can certainly empathize!
DeleteThat's such a good idea to bring more than one perfume oil along and switch halfway through the day when the first has worn off. I'm impatient too, so that would work perfectly for sampling, like you said! And also when you're in the mood for another fragrance. No sense in wearing the same one all day when there are so many options. And life certainly gives us an overwhelming amount of feelings, so it's easy to change perfume once one oil fades and our mood is different from the morning fragrance choice :)
I can't wear perfume to work so that kind of solves the problem for me, lol! If I had as many choices as you, I would have a hard time as well!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, the joys of conforming to occupational standards to pay our bills. I'm sorry you can't wear perfume to work. That sucks. I remember wearing Very Irresistable by Givenchy at one of my old jobs and one of the clients was allergic to it. She was acting like a real bitch about it too. So at least that can be avoided with a lack of scent, haha.
DeleteI like to layer my scents with body creams and body oils, so often I choose a scent to go with my other products.
ReplyDeleteWeather or special occasions influence me a lot. For example I wear Samhain or Yule(bpal) when that day comes. Not exclusively though, I wear these scents in other days too.
When I have lessons or I meet people I don't know, I like to wear my clean or softer scents.
Usually, I wear a different scent in the morning and a different one at the evening or before I go to sleep.
It's hard to choose! I totally feel you there!
